For those who have military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE) you will need to contact your provider directly to see what you are eligible for. While both parts of TriCare (TriCare Standard and TriCare Extra) cover drug treatment, only some VA benefits cover the expense of substance abuse treatment. Once you have spoken with your military insurance representative (e.g., VA, TRICARE) and have a full understanding of what exactly they will cover regarding addiction treatment you can begin researching drug rehab programs. Be sure to speak to the billing department of the drug rehab to make sure that they take your military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE). You will want to have a full understanding of what your part (if any) of the cost of treatment will be before you enroll into the program.
